The students and teachers are the fabric of the life of the school.  Tom Bass founded the school in 1974 and we are the oldest Independent Sculpture School in Australia. 

Set against a history of teaching sculpture in the Master apprentice model we also find that, as students progress they reach a level of competence that enables them to participate in the commissioning program at the studio. 

We are proud of past students who have left the studio school to become sculptors.  Many others have pursued other creative activities.  We are interested in linking with anyone who feels that the school has contributed to their creative life.
