Life Study

The Tom Bass Sculpture Studio School is committed to the teaching of the Life Study.

The study of the life figure is regarded as our most serious commitment to the teaching of sculpture. Our dedication of this intent, and the appreciation of this essential tradition is unique in our approach to the teaching of sculpture and is probably unique in the whole of Australia.

All of our teachers have been taught by Tom Bass for at least 7 years and Tom Bass himself continues to participate in the life study teaching program

To quote Tom Bass: “All Sculpture begins with drawing: Sculpture itself is drawing in every dimension”

All students are encouraged to take part in the Drawing class on Tuesday evening. Life study students receive a discount of 50%
