Tom Bass Sculpture Studio School, Sydney

Volunteers

Inspired by the community spirit of the Sculpture School, the way it runs so harmoniously is a testament to the many students and supporters who work on various School projects on a voluntary basis. In any week up to half of the work done at the school is on a voluntary basis.

We would like to acknowledge our 2008 -2009 Volunteers without whose support the Studio School could not function.

We invite anyone who would like to come forward as a volunteer and assist in areas where the Sculpture School would benefit from additional expertise and support.

There are a range of projects and tasks currently in need of assistance including
mailouts,
letterbox-drops
processing student surveys (to workshops) and
helping out at Friends' events
website promotion,

Many of these tasks carry moderate responsibility and can be arranged around workshop time and personal/work commitments.

If you feel you have time and energy to offer, then please contact Aaron in the office or speak with one of our teaching staff.

Special Skills

There are some highly skilled people amongst our student body and the school has already benefited from their willingness to support and advise the Board and Staff. We have had some support from individuals around legal and OHS issue, group process, computer challenges and specific marketing problems

When you join the School or become a Friend you may wish to advise us of areas of skills that you may wish to share with us. In this way we can build up a Skills Register and ask if you are available when we have particular issue we need to resolve. We do not wish to make this in any way burdensome and obviously you will not be called upon to work on demanding problems – sometimes just knowing what to do and which direction we should work towards is already very helpful.
